Montana Flat
Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 11:35PM Webster Dictionary Definition of FLAT:
"Having a continuous horizontal surface without peaks or depressions." (This is the version I've always been comfortable with.)
Montana Definition of FLAT:
Any surface with a grade not as steep as the Rockies. (It appears North Dakotans use this definition as well.)
Climbed about a 1000 feet on Saturday...that's "Montana Flat".
Looking down from approx. 3000 feet toward the North Dakota border

Good Sunday Evening Tyler.... I am guessing you are in Dickinson or there abouts ... the elevation there it says on the National Weather service Maps says 2400 feet... and Bismark's elevation is at around 1800... so it will be "flat" with a slight down hill incline... :)) the weather looks like a fair wind from the North... so that will be a bit complex if it gusts i'd guess with your panier's as sails.... hoping the predicted thunderstorms for tonight do not find you outside...but rather in a safe dry place..... we are chatting about you and smiling as we get ready for sleep..... pleasant sleep and dreams.... and a good day for you tomorrow..... john and Mary...
Tyler I am assuming you are in Bismark.... and resting... a well deserved rest after the rigors of Montana.... It seems a lot of "flat tires" have befallen you.. and not sure what or why that is... but it is I guess a part of the process... Ron your original accompaniment ... (sp) said he got a lot of miles out of one set of tires...your experience seems different.... glad you continue to thrive and survive... wonder what thoughts/feelings you have on the young soldier from Idaho that the Taliban has captured and put on the television for us.. and the comments by that asshole ex military officer who thought the Taliban would be doing a favor by executing him.... How does that retired LtCol get away with his outrageous comments??? john
