Wind

Day 29, on the other hand, smooth sailing. Wet but fast.

Compare: 75 miles on D-28, 11.5 hours. 75 miles the next day, 5.5 hours. For the non-cyclists out there...like me...lets you know how much difference the wind can make!

Good afternoon from the Chicago ....It was a treat to read the very good article about you in the Billings Gazette.. glad to see it on your media page... the Military Times had one on your trip too you might wish to post there. Hope for a large turnout for you tonight... but where there are Two Or More... :)) Sending good thoughts and prayers for less wind on your next leg out of Billings>>>> It would be nice to have a post of your exact route on the blue hiways so we can "follow along"... in spirit where you are... best regards John and Mary

Evening from Chicago Tyler... i hope your time at the Unitarian Universalist Church went well....they are uniformly good people me thinks with a variety of folks in their congregations... always interesting to spend time with them in a group... It looks to me as if you may be headed East toward Pompey's Pillar tomorrow... along I-94 i don't see a "blue road" anywhere... folllows old highway 12 i think... as a bit of history you are retracing some of Lewis and Clark's original journey and return.. Pompey in my memory was the child of Sacajawea the Mandan woman who led Lewis and Clark with the trapper (??) through Lolo Pass to the Clearwater and the Snake rivers which you have seen..... hope you post a picture or two of that sight... safe journey... and good weather... ( looks like Wed will be dicey.. but Thursday might be a Seventy Five Mile day for you... blessings john
