Into the Valley

D-16: Heading down from Moscow to the Clearwater River was fast and furious and not a little bit fun. But I know I'll pay for that ride in spades over the next couple of days.

A view of Clearwater River from a ridge in Orofino

Lolo Pass is upon me. The Rockies. It's gonna be rough getting back out of this valley.

On the other side of the mountain is Montana. I'll be there on Friday.

Evening Tyler.....My friends John and Robert and I happen to be in Orofino tonight... had a nice dinner on the Clearwater River... we rode in from the south today from McCall via Kooskia and Kamiah.. Your ride tomorrow will re trace the route we took in.. and it is along the beautiful Clearwater without much elevation gain, but a bit of hiway resurface and pilot car stuff from Kamiah three miles or so towards Kooskia... Then you will start up the grade of Lolo Pass.. the pass of Lewis and Clark and Sacajawea toward Missoula... along the Lochsa river which is still raging pretty well... I am envious of the beauty you will see on your camp outs along that trek... Best regards ... you are doin great..... john
